Dragon just west of Salisbury (Bishopdown) tunnel on 11th October 1969.
A new ring road has been built which is very obvious if you compare this
photograph with the previous one of 73065 at the same spot.

The ex-GWR route was closed during November 1973 and was reduced
to sidings at each end. At the Salisbury end this gave access to the ex-GWR
yard, now remodelled as the Salisbury DMU depot. At the Wilton end the siding
gave access to these chalk works at Quidhampton, as seen on 16th March 1974.

Believe it or not, this photograph was taken very close to where
the one above was, but some 32 years later on 21st February 2007. Class 159 º159016 is standing on the DMU
depot headshunt.
