º60024 Kingfisher was a visitor to the Southern network on the LCGB "A4 Commemorative" rail tour run on 27th March 1966 from Waterloo to Exeter St Davids, via Salisbury, returning via Exeter Central and Salisbury. The previous day had also seen 60024 calling at Salisbury with an A4 Locomotive Preservation Society rail tour from Waterloo to Weymouth, returning via Yeovil and Salisbury. Good view of the platform canopies.

Salisbury º34015 Exmouth was standing on the East Yard Reception road on 31st May 1966. The view shows the signalling east of the station with the three arms giving access to platforms 3, 4 and 6 from left to right as viewed in the photo. The signal in the background has a splitting distant for Tunnel Junction, where the Basingstoke and Southampton routes diverge.

Salisbury 34034 Honiton, 35023 Holland-Afrika Line and 34102 Lapford being towed away for scrap on 30th March 1968 - the very last locos to be taken away. The shot is at Gramshaw crossing about 1 mile west of the station on the now defunct ex-GWR line just beyond what is the present-day diesel depot head-shunt.
