Introduced in 1947 these useful two cylinder 4MT engines spent most of their working lives based in the Midland and North Eastern Regions, with a few on the M&GNJR and S&DJR lines. N°43106 has found its way onto Southern Metals at Eastleigh during 1963 and even has the additional two lamp brackets on the smokebox door. This particular engine has the distinction of being the only one of its class to have made it into preservation following final withdrawal from Lostock Hall shed. |
