West Wickham is on what was originally opened as the
West Wickham Railway on Whit Monday, 29th May 1882. This line was fortunate
enough to enjoy a transport monopoly for almost 39 years, until the first bus
appeared in West Wickham on 27th February 1921.
Now running from Elmers End to Hayes the line has services taking approximately 40 minutes from West Wickham to both Cannon Street and Charing Cross. The ticket office is open for most of the day and evening, with a self-service ticket machine for use when the ticket office is closed. A station kiosk sells newspapers, drinks, snacks etc. from about 6:00am until 9:45am. |
