Neil Walkling paid a visit to New Beckenham station on 25th January 2104 while out photographing the Buffer Puffer 11.0 railtour featuring two Class 37 diesels. The canopies are the only remaining part of the original station from its 1904 rebuild, the station itself was originally built in 1866, replacing the original four platform 1864 building situated just north of bridge road with platforms for the spur line to Beckenham Junction. .......and the up platform still more or less its original length.. photograph by Neil Walkling The signalbox was sited just where the VDU displays are shown in the photo showing Class 465 EmuNº465248 on a Cannon Street - Hayes service. photograph by Neil Walkling The same unit returned with the up working on the up platform with the longer canopy. photograph by Neil Walkling Also shown is the Buffer Puffer railtour with Class 37/6 no 37610 leading through the station.............. photograph by Neil Walkling .......and 37405 tailing with the train heading down the incline towards Clock House.
